UPVC Replacement Door Handles
The handles on your doors are worn out over time and need to be replaced. It is important to match the dimensions of the handles that were previously used when replacing them.

Inline Lever/Lever
A lever or lever door handle is a modern handle that can be put in on doors that are new or replacement. This style of handle is available in various designs and finishes. A number of manufacturers make this handle including Avocet, ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

The uPVC/Composite door handles are constructed of durable materials and are perfect for multi-point lock doors which require a robust design. The handles are inline and use the same spindle and screws to secure them. They can be easily installed on a new or existing uPVC/Composite door.
The spring lever design allows the handle to be placed and angled to provide a comfortable grip and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested to 200,000 cycles, which will ensure the quality of the finish as well as the performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever can be reduced to accommodate the widest range of locks. This is particularly useful for doors with narrower frames, where the cylinder is located further back. A shortened lever can also be used for doors with latches that can be opened by the thumb inside.
Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle is distinct from the lever handles found on most doors. These handles can use a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are generally employed on UPVC double-glazed doors and come in a variety of styles and styles.
The handles are available in various finishes, including White chrome and Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This gives the handle an outstanding performance and durability to serve the purpose it was designed for.
All of the UPVC lever pad designs are supplied with the spindle and screws that allow them to be put on a new or existing uPVC door. The backplate fixing centres of 211mm allow for a wider size handle that is often a benefit when replacing a faulty or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers come with a spring, which solves the issue of door handles that sag out of horizontal position when they are not being used.
It is essential to ensure that the PZ dimensions for both the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC doors when choosing the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement can also be referred to as 'handle centres or cylinder centres'. It is important to match the right handles.
Once you have decided on the proper PZ size it is important to make sure that the push and lever pads are shaped to fit the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles you require for your door. They typically have rectangular or round in design with an internal lever and external push pad.

The cylinder lock operates by a key which unlocks the cylinder case. This reveals pins that can be aligned with the pins in the lock, allowing them to turn the revolving camera, opening the door. Euro Cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins with both internal and external doors typically needing different levels of security.
Selecting the right cylinder for your needs is crucial; it is dependent on the way your doors and handle are utilized. A euro cylinder should be measured accurately to ensure it's the correct size for your door. The cylinder must be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, in the event that one is present. If you are unable measure it using the lock in a fixed position, you can take it out of it. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon might be vulnerable to attacks such as lock snapping, so it is important that it's not too long.
The majority of modern cylinders have been made with anti-drill and bump resistance features built into their design. They are designed to decrease the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to turn in a different direction. This can help to deflect an attack and ensure your door is secure.
There are also cylinders constructed to withstand snapping. This is a common occurrence on cylinders. A specific tool is used to break the break line of the lock and the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a faster and more convenient method of gaining access than using the use of a multipoint locking system. It also leaves less evidence of the burglary which could make it difficult to prove insurance claims.
Spring Cassette
The spring cassette is situated in the base plate of your door handle. It provides a sprung solution to return the multipoint lock handles to their resting position after using. The handles were previously equipped with no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disengaged. This simple feature is among the best ways to correct this, and is an excellent way to stop your upvc doors from getting stuck in either closed or open position, as these are not always easy to manually close by hand.
These spring cassettes were designed to be used with a sprung multipoint locks. They are not compatible with unsprung handles and you'll need to cut a hole into your backplate for them to fit. (Please check the image for a more detailed diagram). These cassettes are a replacement for damaged or missing cassettes on the backplate of uPVC door handles. They are fitted with a square cut out which allows for an 8mm spindle to be used and they are supplied individually.
These spring cassettes provide a great value solution to the problem of door handles that have become sagging. They are easy to fit and will extend the lifespan of your uPVC doors.
